In Kindergarten, I filled in the blank "When I grow up I want to be ________" with the words an Artist.
That sweet, beautiful dream was left behind somewhere along the journey when I let other ideas get in its way....
but I found and warmly rekindled the dream in recent years.
Now I can't imagine a day without paint on my hands. (and maybe a little on my face and clothes) :)
I enjoy bright, joyous colors that make my heart sing and am constantly inspired by the beautiful creation of the best artist ever ~ God in Heaven.
I believe that art has the power to heal hurting hearts. It happened for me after losing my sister to cancer and finding bits of purpose and joy among the grief when there was a canvas in front of me. It is that time with paint and canvas that my mind can be clear of worries or sadness and I can just feed my soul the happiness of creating. It sustains me and motivates me to keep ever searching for joy in all aspects of life. I hope that you can feel that joy and hope within each painting I create.
I live in the North Carolina mountains with my dashingly handsome husband, my incredibly creative college daughter, and two darling dogs, Pepe le Cute and Henry David Thoreau.
I love folk music and foggy mornings.
I like a good steaming cup of Earl Grey tea in my hands.
I love chasing waterfalls- no matter what the song says.
And I always gasp at the moon.
